15 of My Favorite Things
15 of My Favorite Things
My girls are bringing me into the modern world of videos for the blog. One did the setup for me, the other put the various takes together into the finished piece.
The imperfect blurry graphic lead? Yep, all me baby. I got 99 skills but this isn’t one, yet.
I didn’t see the video until she was through, and it took a bit of courage to actually post it. It shows my, well, dorky side. The false starts and the “cuts” were included.
She assured me it accurately represented part of who I am.
It seemed appropriate to go ahead with it because I laughed. It is good to laugh at ourselves, and not take life so seriously all the time. Let’s include more of that in 2016.
The ability to step back, not be so self-critical (like I was tempted to do about this video, remember I am just a regular gal) and accept the beautiful imperfections of our everyday moments.
The Wabi-Sabi of video production in this case.
I am not a professional videographer, clearly. Just a girl with a camera and a heart for encouragement. And importantly, the ability to laugh at herself and just be “real”. Not edited for social media and perfection. We could perhaps use a bit more of this 🙂

Can you re-post the video? I couldn’t get it to play and would really like to see it!
Christa – never mind! I got it to work😄 It might have been my phone😕 Anyway, loved the top 15 video!!!
Thanks sister friend 🙂
I liked the video it’s nice you didn’t “polish” it up. Gonna have to try the lip gloss.
Ha Donna, I am too actually. It was hard, after my daughter showed me her finished product, not to get HUGELY self critical. But, how can we encourage each other to embrace themselves if we don’t do it ourselves? I think you love the non stickiness and non drying power of the gloss 🙂
Great job on the video. It was fun & inspirational.
Thanks Brigitta, I so appreciate you coming over to let me know! Welcome to the blog 🙂
You are adorable and I think we’d be great friends! ((Wierdo alert!)) Thanks for sharing your favs!
Coralee, I TOTALLY get it! I love new friends, and if it makes you feel less weird…I thought that about someone I talked to in the store today! Welcome 🙂

Boy, do I love your blog’s new look (not that it was bad before). You did a great job on your video. I loved how you shared all the wonderful things that commemorate 2015.
I am so glad Shelley! We have all learned so much since we began! Thanks for coming over!
Teach me your ways, grasshopper! I loved the video and your favorite things. I NEED that necklace…like now!! 🙂
I am not sure we could be friends because my jealousy over you being able to look amazing in a bandana would consume me!
Beautiful blog and even more beautiful heart!
You are so sweet, and I am glad you found your way over! Rock the bandana girl, you be what makes YOU smile
