A Sonoran Snowfall- Photography

Snowfall is a very rare thing in my part of the country.  Come with me on a visual journey into the Sonoran desert

You’ll find that the coloring and shadows vary drastically in each picture. I decided not to edit that all out. It really DID look like this.   Enjoy a rare peek at snowfall in cactus land!

See all those little dots on the mountainside across the lake? All saguaro cactuses…

I took a chance sharing these with you. They don’t even come close to translating on here the brilliance of them in real time!

Imagine turning in a complete circle. The afternoon light is fading…red rocks thrusting into the blue sky on one side…distant covered Mogollon mountains promising deep snow for those brave enough to come closer…complete lack on snow and gorgeous desert contrast on another…and a long empty road stretching out for miles in front of you.

Barely a car passing for hours. This was one spectacular day, I hope you can rest your brain as you scroll through the desert landscape.

Roosevelt Bridge

This is the first of a two-part photo series. We thought THIS was our adventure...we had no idea the wild ride we were entering into just after this bridge.

Next time let’s head down the famous Apache Trail together. The pavement ends, and the one-lane dirt road beckons us into the most beautiful Arizonan landscape I’ve ever seen. But the trail? Not for the faint of heart, especially as the sun began to set. Till then…

  1. Took a chance, sharing these?!!! Are you kidding? They’re all beautiful! The bridge definitely begs to be printed out for your wall. Love them and you!

  2. The photos are all worthy of frames on walls! Gorgeous, even though my heart is in tree covered mountains. Thanks for sharing.
