State Fair Photography
It is state fair season across America.
Residents come from across their states to enjoy the competition of their livestock and pies, while others come for the attractions.
My husband and I set out to enjoy the fair one day. Two city raised- turned resident- locals.
Come along on a visual field trip, to the Indiana State Fair…
While browsing the exhibit halls, my husband (who was getting rather bored of my interest in the ribbon rankings of various vegetables) noticed a watermelon spitting contest was about to get started.
Being a competitive sort, he good-naturedly signed up, feeling rather confident in his skills. He was in a steep lead…until a latecomer spit one more seed.
An INCH further. Second place and a ribbon had to suffice ;).
We had a great time at the fair, and I loved learning about what makes this state so proud. I appreciated the hard-working farmers and delighted in the animals, beribboned cakes, and people watching.
A, on the other hand, found the beer garden to be his favorite part of the day. A cool reprieve from the heat and crowds.
My hat is OFF to the people that work so doggedly to contribute to my beloved country.
Faith, family, and pride in their heritage are hallmarks of these amazing people.
